Australia’s Green Energy Agency has revealed the number of green energy-related jobs in the city’s recycling industry rose by 9.7% in the three months to July, according to the latest Australian Bureau of Statistics data.
A total of 1,902 green energy jobs were created in the sector in the third quarter of 2017, up from 1,868 the previous quarter.
The latest data also revealed that green energy accounted for a record 7.3% of the overall employment in the Australian Capital Territory in the same period, the highest in the nation.
Nashville was also the only Australian city to see a rise in the number, with the city receiving an increase of 3.9%.
The city saw the largest growth of the three sectors, as it recorded a rise of 6.1% in green energy sector employment and 7.5% in total employment.
In addition, there were 2,828 new green energy projects completed in the past year.
